The New Testament Focuses more on Righteous Identity than Righteous Behavior

There are 33 Verses in the New Testament that tell us WE ARE RIGHTEOUS, that we have righteousness.
There are 13 verses in the New Testament that tell us to behave righteously. With five of those reminding us that we are already righteous.

"God gives us righteousness regardless of our works. We are blessed! The Lord will never charge us with sin!" (from Romans 4:6-8)

We pursue righteous deeds because our spirits produce the fruit of love. We do not do righteous things to become righteous or to "get right with God." We are already & irrevocably both! We are new creations. We are born of the Holy Spirit. As Hebrews 12:23 says, "We are the Spirits of righteous people made perfect!"

The New Testament Focuses more on Holy Identity than Holy Behavior

There are 13 Verses in the New Testament that tell us WE ARE HOLY.
There are 3 verses in the New Testament that tell us to behave holy. Two of those remind us that we are holy, telling us to act holy because we are already holy.

2 Timothy 1:9 says, "God called us with a HOLY calling that is NOT BASED ON OUR WORKS. God's Holy calling is based on HIS GRACE."

Holiness is not something to hunger or strive for, Holiness is a gift we already have! Our spirits are reborn holy by the Holy Spirit. You never need to thirst for living water. You have rivers of it flowing out of you!
